Hi, I'm Sally!

The founder of Blossom & Bond, a floral preservation studio based here in the beautiful Adelaide Hills.

So a little bit about me..
I have been a Registered Nurse for twenty years and loved being able to nurture and support people through the challenges in their health journey.

When my son was born, I found that my focus and priorities began to shift. I absolutely loved seeing the world through his eyes, and I wanted to soak up all of the precious first years together. We spent so much time in nature, observing its beauty and slow rhythms.

It was during this time that I bought a small flower press and began pressing the flowers growing in our garden. I immediately, and quite unexpectedly, fell in love with the process of traditional pressing, the magic of taking something so delicate and beautiful and giving it a life beyond its natural season.

After many years of honing my craft as a preservationist, I then undertook an intensive mentorship program with renowned New York based pressed flower artist Tricia Paoluccio, of Modern Pressed Flower. Through the program I learnt how to take my pressed flowers and create artwork that reflects the character and unique beauty of the original blooms. Every arrangement is unique, and I love allowing the natural shapes, textures and imperfections of the flowers to become part of the finished piece.

There is something incredibly special about being able to hold onto the flowers from a wedding, memorial, or treasured home garden, and preserve them as a reminder of that time and place.

I am absolutely honoured when entrusted with your precious flowers, always treating them with the utmost care and attention and ensuring that you love the final artwork that can be treasured for many years to come.

  •    Quality

    • At Blossom & Bond, each flower is meticulously pressed by hand to help retain as much of its natural colour and vibrancy as possible.
    • Your artwork is mounted on high-quality European archival watercolour paper, chosen to help prevent the degradation and yellowing that can occur over time with lower-quality, acid-based materials.
    • Your piece is then finished in a custom-made frame, created specifically for you by highly skilled local preservation framers.
    • The frame is fitted with anti-reflective picture framing glass, blocking up to 70% of UV light, while maintaining excellent optical clarity. This helps protect your flowers from fading while allowing your artwork to be enjoyed with minimal reflections.

  •    Communication

    • Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive a detailed welcome guide with everything you need to know, from which flowers press best (and which are best avoided!), to how to care for your blooms and prepare them for their journey to our studio.
    • Once your flowers arrive, you’ll receive regular email updates throughout the preservation process, so you can follow their journey and know exactly what stage your flowers are at.
    • Before we begin creating your final artwork, we'll be in touch to confirm your frame size and style, background colour and any design preferences or personal elements you’d like to include. This ensures the finished piece feels truly personal to you and your flowers.

  •    Bespoke

    • At Blossom & Bond, no two pieces are the same. Each artwork is thoughtfully designed around your flowers, your story and the memories they hold.
    • Rather than working from set templates, we take the time to create a composition that feels personal and unique to you.
From the size and style of your frame to the background colour and any additional elements you may wish to include, such as a photograph or invitation, every detail can be tailored to suit your style and preferences.
    • We intentionally take on a limited number of commissions so that each piece receives the care and attention it deserves, ensuring you receive a beautiful and totally bespoke piece of art for your home.
