Common Questions

How long does the process take?

The day we receive your flowers, they are placed in our traditional wooden presses and dried for 6-8 weeks.

Completion of your custom artwork will usually take an additional 3-4 months, depending on seasonal demand. We will always keep you updated on the progress of your flowers throughout their preservation journey.

How do I send my bouquet?

You'll need to deliver the flowers to our studio in the Adelaide Hills within 1-3 days of your event. We suggest pre-arranging a family member or bridesmaid to do this for you, particularly if you are leaving for your honeymoon shortly after your big day.

If you don't live within the Adelaide area, you can send your flowers via Australia Post or other courier service.

*Please note that postal delivery will be at your own expense.

You'll receive a comprehensive welcome guide after booking, with further details on all delivery options.

Feel free to contact us with any further questions you may have regarding the delivery of your flowers.

What if I don't have my bouquet anymore?

That's okay! Our Bouquet Recreation service can recreate it using fresh flowers and foliage that closely reflect your bouquet’s colours, textures and overall character.

These flowers are then pressed and incorporated into a bespoke floral artwork, designed especially for you.

The cost of bouquet recreation includes your chosen frame, plus the cost of the flowers and foliage sourced specifically for your artwork. Floral costs generally range from $100-$150, depending on the size of your artwork and the varieties of flowers required.

Please feel free to get in touch if you want to discuss this option with us further.

How soon after my wedding do you need my flowers?

Ideally, your flowers should reach us within 1-3 days after your wedding. Occasionally the timeframe can be extended to 5 days, if required.

Fresh flowers begin to change quickly once they are cut, so commencing the pressing process as soon as possible gives the best chance of preserving them beautifully.

How long does the preservation process take?

The pressing process itself takes approximately 6-8 weeks, followed by the careful design, composition and framing of your artwork. The overall turnaround time is approximately 4-6 months, although this can vary depending on the season and the number of commissions in progress.

Flower preservation is a slow and delicate process, and we never want to rush it at the expense of quality.

What happens if my flowers change colour?

Your flowers will change colour! Natural colour changes are part of the beauty of working with organic materials. Some varieties retain their colour beautifully, while others may soften or change during the pressing process and over time.

Whites, in particular, can develop beautiful cream, ivory or antique tones. We occasionally use colour-correcting techniques, but do so sparingly, so that the finished artwork reflects the natural character of your blooms.

Will all of my flowers be preserved?

We carefully assess your flowers when they arrive at our studio and preserve as many blooms and foliage pieces as possible. Some flowers and greenery naturally press better than others, so we'll work with the flowers available to create the most beautiful composition possible.

Do you colour correct the flowers?

Sometimes. Our preference is to leave the flowers in their natural state, embracing the colour variations that occur during the pressing process and gradually over time.

On occasion it may be necessary to apply a light colour-correction, but this is done sparing to keep the flowers looking as natural as possible.

Will my finished artwork look exactly like my bouquet?

Pressed flowers naturally change in shape, size and colour during the preservation process. Rather than trying to recreate the bouquet exactly, we create a thoughtful composition that celebrates the natural character of your flowers while capturing the essence of your original arrangement.

Can I request a particular frame size or style?

Absolutely! All of our frames are custom-made by a local framer just for you. We offer a range of frame options and sizes when booking, and if you have something specific in mind that's not listed, please get in touch and we will do our best to accomodate you.

Can I choose how my flowers are arranged?

Yes, we welcome your thoughts and preferences about the layout of your artwork. We take into consideration the colours, flowers and overall feel of your bouquet when creating the composition.

We will also use our artistic judgement to allow the natural shapes and forms of the pressed flowers to guide the final design.

Do you work with memorial flowers and other sentimental botanicals?

Yes. Flower preservation isn’t limited to weddings. Flowers from anniversaries, birthdays, engagements, memorials, and sentimental gardens can all be transformed into a lasting piece of art.

Please get in touch via our 'Contact' page with any enquiries you may have.

What happens to flowers that aren’t suitable for pressing?

Some flowers and foliage don’t press or dry successfully. Where possible, we'll preserve suitable elements from your arrangement and use them thoughtfully within the composition. We’ll always handle your flowers with care and make the most of what can be preserved.

How should I care for my finished pressed flower artwork?

Pressed botanical artwork is delicate and should be kept away from direct sunlight, excessive humidity and moisture. Displaying your artwork in a cool, dry space away from strong sunlight and your bathroom/laundry will help protect the flowers and to maintain their natural colours.

Will my flowers last forever?

We always use high-quality archival materials when creating your artwork, and a specialised UV-protective glass to shield your flowers from sunlight.

Please be aware that flowers are natural botanical materials, and will continue to age and soften in colour over time.

How do I get my flowers to you?

Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive a Welcome Guide with information about preparing and delivering your flowers to our studio. Depending on your location, flowers can be arranged for local drop-off or carefully packaged for postage.

Do you accept flowers from outside Adelaide?

Yes. If you’re unable to deliver your flowers in person, we can provide guidance on carefully packaging and sending them to our studio via Australia Post or other courier service.

Please be aware that this option is not covered by your purchase price and will need to be paid for directly through your selected postal service

How will I know what stage my flowers are at?

From the moment of receiving and pressing your blooms, through to the creation of your artwork and time for collection, we'll always keep you in the loop. You’ll receive regular email updates as your flowers move through the different stages of the preservation process.

Can I order a gift voucher?

Absolutely! Blossom & Bond gift vouchers are available and make a wonderful gift for engagements, bridal showers, weddings and other special occasions.

Vouchers should be purchased well in advance of the wedding, to ensure that your required date is available.

Do you offer custom commissions?

Yes. Every pressed flower artwork is a bespoke piece created around the flowers and memories you want to preserve.

If you have something specific in mind, we'd love to hear from you!

What if I have more questions before booking?
